Author: Alex Houg, InsideFacebook.com

Why read this article?

Find out what top hotels and resorts are doing to engage with fans on their Facebook Pages. What type of content do their fans like and what type of content are they sharing most often?

 What’s the PULSE on This?

  • To get more engagement on your Page share images of your destination & the scenery around your property. Genuine photos of the area get higher click through rates
  • Share photos of the actual food you serve, they get better interaction from fans and people are more likely to share a comment. Glossy stock photos are unlikely to get a reaction.
  • Find your sweet spot with your post frequency – don’t overdo it! Pages that post 6 to 7 times a day do better than those that post too often. Make sure you know what your fans like and when they are online.
  • Promotions and contests are a great way to engage with your fans and we have the apps to help you do just that. Avoid overdoing it with this tactic; you will still need to share great content!
  • Here’s a post we wrote back in July 2013 especially for hotels with more tips
