Instant Win

Type of App: Enter to win, one final draw
Industry: Sports Goods
Size of FanPage:  31 K Fans
Campaign duration:  24 days
Prizes offered: 1 grand prize values $750 including 2 tickets to a basketball game, dinner for 2 and 2 jerseys, 2nd prize is 2 tickets to a basketball game.

Why we picked this campaign: This sports goods store partnered with a restaurant and is offering a dinner for 2, 2 jerseys and 2 tickets to a basketball game in which the local famous team is playing. This not only targets their core audience but also is a way to attract more fans and make the contest appealing. Their campaign is visually strong and is centered around a one time event. The big prize is very inticing and the whole experience is appealing. Also, we dig basketball.

If you start an Instant Win campaign, make sure the app vendor you choose offers mobile access to your contest, the standard link to your campaign tab will not work.  App vendors, like Agorapulse, will provide you with a specific link, which detects the type of device your participants are using and optimize the format for their screen.

Photo contest

Type of App: Photo contest
Industry: Automobile
Size of FanPage: close to 13 000 fans
Campaign duration: 10 days
Prizes offered: Accessories, daily prizes.

Why we picked this campaign: Because we love cars, automobile brands always do well on Facebook, their pages have many many likers. This major brand involves their fans in the creation in a new car model. They are engaging their fans in an inclusive and interactive contest, fans must post a picture of their customized car and let the fans vote. This Swiss Page is bilingual, French speakers and German Speakers can both participate. The campaign looks professional, graphics and visuals are really nice.

Type of App: Sweepstakes, one draw
Industry: Press
Size of FanPage:  25 000 Fans
Campaign duration: 1 week
Prizes offered: 10 kits including a bag, gadget and drinks

Why we picked this campaign: Honestly? Because their visual is very cute, the colors feel like sugar and fresh fruity drink, really nice design! This people magazine partnered with a famous fruit drink brand to launch a sweepstakes campaign around the theme “re-fruit your life”. It offers a small prize geared toward a younger demographic, thier core audience, but the playfulness of the whole experience is engaging and everybody loves free gadgets. The page did not gain many new likers throughout the campaign but an honest amount of participants.

Like for an Instant Win campaign, in a Sweepstakes, make sure the app you choose offers mobile access, the standard link to your campaign tab will not work.

Fan vote

Type of App: Fan Vote
Industry: Services B2C
Size of FanPage: 15 500 fans
Campaign duration: 16 days
Prizes offered: £ 100 to spend at a Michelin Starred restaurant

Why we picked this campaign: Food is always a rallying topic! We are foodies, and so are a lot of people. Beautful pictures of restaurants and dining experiences are always aesthetically pleasant and opens the appetite and the desire to particpate. Now I am hungry. Anyhow, this Fan Vote campaign brought 177 new fans to the page and had a good turnout. The prize is attractive but most importantly interests the participants who are already the company’s customers.

Facebook loves fan vote campaigns, and if your app is integrated with frictionless sharing, like all Agorapulse apps are, each vote produces a story in friends’ newsfeeds and tickers.

Type of App: Quiz
Brand: Pioneer (Pioneer DJ France)
Size of FanPage:  43 000 Fans
Campaign duration: 14 days
Prizes offered: DJE-1500 headphones
Why we picked this campaign: because DJs saved my life more than once! Because when you love music as much as we do, then you want to have the latest best DJ gear. No wonder this page gained 124 fans in 14 days. The campaign was shared 103 times and got 153 invites. This quiz was very challenging, it tested the knowledge of the brand and making best time was a winning factor.  Too bad we could not participate…
