#2 Graph Search Will Now Include Status Updates

Author: David Cohen, All Facebook

Why read this article?
Posts and status updates will now be included in Graph Search results. Users will only have access to Posts shared publicly or content that has been shared with them, by Friends for example. Facebook said the enhancement to Graph Search will initially be rolled out to a small group of users, this will enable them to analyse feedback from the initial rollout.

What’s the PULSE on This?

    o
  • Local business will be able to leverage graph search for direct business.
  • o

  • Based on what Facebook reported: Users will be able to search for hotels in New York that friends of friends have been to (Check Ins). They will be able to refine this search by Check Ins that have also been commented on. So not only will users be able to see who checked in at a particular hotel but what they said about it.
  • o

  • Graph Search is likely to become a major part of Facebook’s advertising revenue stream. Stay up to date on what is happening with this feature to make sure you are ahead of the curve.
