Full Episode Details:

Do Posts After a Boosted Post Have More or Less Organic Reach?

Many big time social media “gurus” don’t like using the Boost button on Facebook posts.

They prefer to run ads using the Facebook Ads Manager as it gives you more control over your ad.

But for many small businesses the Boost button is all they need. It’s simple, quick and easy.

So I wanted to see what impact Boosted posts had on the NEXT post you publish to your Facebook page.

Will those posts have more organic Reach due to the Boost compared to post not following a Boosted post?

That’s what we’ll test in this podcast.

Our Hypothesis:

facebook posts

In This Episode:

  • What are Boosted Posts
  • Why we tested this
  • How we setup the test
  • What the data says about posts after a Boosted post
  • Our conclusion based on the data

Quotes From the Episode:

“So you’re not convinced by these rumors?” – Richard Beeson

“I typically boost 3-4 posts per week to keep my business top of mind on the newsfeed.” – Scott Ayres

We’ll test mainly organic reach, but also will run paid experiments.

The experiments are conducted by myself, Scott Ayres, and Jason How.

We typically publish 1 blog post and podcast per week.

The podcast is co-hosted by Richard Beeson and myself.
